Report: J-World – Katekyoshi Hitman Reborn Event

So overall I would say this event was a bit underwhelming, but since I personally got into Reborn 5 years after the anime and manga had ended, I was still happy to see it.

Report: J-World - JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable

So I’m not the biggest JoJo’s fan in the world (that title belongs to my partner in crime Buttcape), but I’ve been enjoying watching the anime and I would like to start reading the manga because the artwork that I’ve seen is utterly beautiful. What I like about JoJo’s is that the characters somehow manage to be utterly beautiful, but in an incredibly masculine way. What I would say about this event is that it does not really capture that, but most of these events are based on the animes, and while the animes tend to be enjoyable, they do not usually have the same care and skill applied to the art as the mangas do.

Report: Collabo Cafe Honpo - Daiya no A Edition

You may or may not know this, but I’m a huge fan of Daiya no A. It’s my current everything. Since I showed up in Japan just past the Daiya hype, a lot of events for the series have already passed such as various Animate Café’s, stage plays, baseball team collaboration events, karaoke collaborations, and many many more. You could imagine the excitement I felt when I saw the announcement that Collabo Café Honpo was going to do a Daiya collaboration.

While I was in Tokyo the first weekend of the café for a douj event, I never saw when they’d open reservations and they were all booked up before I could get my chance to snag one, so I made a second 3 hour long trip to Tokyo in order to reach this one. This past weekend I had the honor and delight of going to Collabo Café Honpo’s Daiya no A Café.

Making the reservation and getting to the café was easy enough. They tell you that it is just in front of the Don Quijote in Akihabara, and that’s true. The photos the café posted to Twitter made it seem like the café was huge, but it was actually quite small. The magic of upward angles I guess.

Catching up.

I moved to Tochigi at the end of August of 2016, so I’ve been here a while. I’ll tell you about some of the processes of moving and a couple things that I wish I had done differently and some things to look out for. I guess I can also throw in what I've been up to.
